Custom email templates for Mailman

I hate to keep pounding this from different angles, but this is my project right now.

I am currently using Mailman to administer my two email lists. I am also toying with the idea of using Dada Mail instead. One thing I really like about Dada Mail is being able to customize the email templates used for the newsletter lists.

So far, I can't find an area where I can do the same with Mailman. Just want to know if anyone out there is more familiar with either of these programs than I am (understanding that you don't really know how familiar I am with either one).

Mailman is a newsletter program. People subscribe to a particular email list, and get whatever emails are sent to that list (from approved senders).

Mailman is not a program to check your mail. Dada mail is the same sort of system (a mail list that mass mails subscribers) that runs in Perl (I think).

If you want to know about Mailman, sign onto your CPanel backend, click on the email tab up near the top and look for the option that lets you create mailing lists.

Dada Mail has to be installed seperately. Just do a search for Dada mail.

I don't know what templating Dada gives you but Mailman can add headers and footers to messages posted to your lists. If you go to the "Non-digest options" section of the administration page for a list, you will find entries for these. The "Digest options" section has similar entries for those users who have chosen to receive messages grouped together as a digest.

Unfortuneately, Mailman doesn't allow you to customize html email templates. It only allows for those text-based headers and footers to your messages.

Dada, on the other hand, allows you to create a template for both text and html email messages. I think this feature is better suited to make your emails better suited to your particular site's theme. I just wish Mailman did this, or that Dada offered as much control over newsletters as Mailman does ... (user management with passwords, digest options, etc).
