Trying to set up email on Outlook 2002 (xp)
the ISP is Comcast

I have tried several options from postings here and from HM help system.
domain.com instead of mail.domain.com
outgoing server 26 instead of 25
SSL and port 465 for outgoing server

Outlook can retrieve mail from HM pop account just fine.

CANNOT send mail using Outlook and HM email settings

Outgoing mail is bounced right back into Outlook with this response when trying to send:
. . . . 550 Administrative prohibition

I have not yet done a HM "ticket"
Anyone have advise on this? Maybe there have been posts here that I have missed. I sure hope that HM is not blocked by ISPs as a spam producer . . .

Thanks for any tips -
Granny

I suggest you call your ISP, I got the same problem before and it was my ISP who block these prots. So they do have a solution for you since they block thses ports.

Aha! - Symptom Solved
I went into Norton antivirus on my machine, disabled the outgoing mail scans and now can send OK using the HM smtp, port 26
The clue came from a deeply buried spot on Comcast site -

Apparently Symantec/Norton does not like either me or HM, or maybe both -
So the symptom is solved for the moment - As to the cause ? ?

Whew. I was fearing some unhappy clients.
