NVU has a file mannager that uses FTP.

This means that you need to login to your site but from then on it is very easy to use. You can move files, delete files, edit files as easy as in any file mannager (example: windows explorer).

So, no need to know FTP.

It's easy to use ftp. First you need an ftp client program. There's lots of free ones.

Then follow the directions I just posted to thread Publishing Help..somebody... for connecting to NVu. Same configuration directions for setting up ftp access to your site.

Have you got a Firewall turned on that could be blocking the ftp ports?

A good test would be to see if you can get there with a web browser.

Using a web browser the URL ftp://username@mydomain.com returns an http request for my password and once that is supplied, I'm presented with an ftp type listing of my HM space.

Note that in the above, username is my original HM username (the one that is based on the first 8 characters of my domain name).

If this works, then a Firewall is likely not the issue.

What ftp client are you trying to use? Or are you trying to configure NVu for ftp?

Every account with HM has only one CPanel. That means that everything you have access through via CPanel is only available for the main account.

You can either let people have access to this account (not recommended), or you can give them the ability to build their websites with NVU, or any other web page builder, and upload their pages via FTP, which is the only access you can safely give multiple users.

They can use page wizard without logging into your HM account, but I am not sure if they will be able to save their pages to their own subdomain correctly without the main account login information. You can always test this out.

Having said that, I point you to the posts in the forums that detail the problems with page wizard and the utter confusion it causes many unsuspecting users.

Is it really limited to 20 or less ftp accounts logging on at the same time?
