Need new cPanel theme NOW!!!

I hate the cPanel theme that HostMonster chose. I would like to propose that they change it. I contacted them about about changing it after I bought the hosting plan and they said they would not change it. I have been thinking and I got an idea. If I start a poll and ask if people want it changed and if the majority of the people say yes then I will contact support and show them that these many people would like it to change. I know that not every customer visits the forum. Through the WHM control panel (the admin control panel) they can choose to turn on user selected themes. It will provide a dropdown list box of the themes available. I would like to suggest the default cPanel theme. Even if they brand it so it has the HM logo I would still prefer that. I have attached some pictures of the default theme. The default theme is much more organized, lighter, and more productive. If you would like to see it in action then go to http://www.cpanel.net/products/cPane...try_cp_whm.htm and click on the cpanel demo. If you click on the WHM demo you can see the tools that the admins get. You can check out the new cPanel 11 which is currently in beta and looks really cool. I have also included a poll in this thread so please vote and post your comments. After 30 days I will submit the request to HM. If this issue becomes popular I will try to ask one of the moderators to make this a sticky thread.

I agree, it would be nice to have the choice. How about another poll for the forum skin colors!?! I have an even harder time with them than with the cPanel. (At least I can SEE everything on the cPanel! I mean, I'm not colorblind, but white letters on a light green background? :p~ Even "Web Pages for Dummies" speaks against such color combos.) I know I'm just a newbie here, just my 2 cents. :)

I hate the file manager the most because as griff671 said its white letters on a light green background so you cant see it. The file and folder icons are ginormous. One of the friends that I reffered also hates the current theme. He is actually thinking about leaving hostmonster because of it. Another thing I dont like is the fact that it hides stuff. It took me days to find the hotlink protection. I could go on and on but I wont because someone else will.

I think you are getting confused ronrizzo. What griff was referring to was the green menu bar in the forums here. What you were talking about was the file manager in CPanel. The File Manager does not have a green background with white letters. CPanel is all blue.

The only thing I would change is when clicking on the File Manager, it should open in a new window instead of in the parent. However, I would caution everyone in that Hostmonster is not run by a democratic process. It is a business. They do not have to change anything they don't want to. Also, the only reason they would change something is if it helped make them more money.

The poll is a good idea, but I just don't want people to get their hopes up, or get the wrong idea about how Hostmonster does business.

Just so you know, this poll is probably a wasted effort. HM support nor the admins come here to read posts. If you all send an email to support, that would be a better solution.

Only thing that having a poll here is just for curious reason, but I think we all know that HM needs a new look for cPanel.

I know that support doesnt watch over the forum. I am doing this poll so that when the time comes and I talk to support I will have them look at this poll and they will see that everyone wants it changed. They will probobly end up changing it because they want their customers to be happy. I think this would be the more civilized way of doing it. Instead of bombarding them with emails, request, and phone calls. Then if they still dont change it then we can bombard them.

I would like this thread to build up popularity and get alot of people to vote so that I can have accurate information as to whether people acctually want to have the theme changed.

Has anyone tried out the new cPanel. RDM does hostmonster update their cPanel frequently. I hope so because as soon a s cPanel 11 comes out I want it but not as much as a new theme.

Yes, a lot of the updates they do are behind the scenes. They do their own patches and updates that don't reflect the version change in cPanel. As for going to cPanel 11, I'm not sure of their plans on that.

THANK YOU HM for changing the forum header from white on green header bar to black on green! I can SEE again! Maybe there is hope for changes to the cpanel skin to the Xv skin!?! (Yeah, I know they don't come to the forum, but just in case. It's apparent that SOMEONE with the power to change things has been reading & heeding.)

I don't really care what the control panel looks like. at least I can read it. I think that the forum needs some more skins! I agree totally with griff671 LIGHT GREEN AND WHITE IS ANNOYING.

I agree with everything I have read here. I am a brand new user, and am already considering leaving Hostmonster because the Cpanel theme they have chosen is so hard on the eyes.

I will be spending enough time working on my sites that it is important to me that I be able to work without any extra eye strain.

I have sent off a question to support about the issue, so we'll see if they give me the same answer as everyone else.

I don't find anything wrong with the current theme. Mine looks mostly blue with white boxes with blue writing.
