Uploading & Downloading Files on a page of code?

Hi all, I downloaded Joomla from the CGI Center but not sure how to set it up. I am a Microsoft Flight Sim Host and Web Developer, www.fs-fleet.com ... and would like to set up a page on this site so the guys can share aircraft files. Any ideas? Joomla any good for this? I appreciate any responses, Bud

Well is it set up yet looking at you're site i'm guessing not, whats the problems you are getting trying to set it up cause so many problems can occur say guessing what the problems are is pointless. And yes Joomla is more than perfect for what you want to achieve.

Joomla has a bunch of plugins and modules you can install to expand its functionality: http://extensions.joomla.org/. I'm sure you can find something that will aid in sharing files, though some find that learning a new application like Joomla to be somewhat daunting. I use it on one of my own sites, so I can definitely vouch for its usefulness.

Just give it a test drive with any extensions you find and see if you like it - that's usually the route that I take when trying out new software.
