Well, Im very new. I've had my site for some time now been using it for all sorts of things which I have figured out by trial and error. But now I'm hosting a subdomain site for my friend and he needs access to the html files and I was wondering how I would allow him to log in and edit the html files on his subdomain but not on any thing else?
If you could please go in to detail I'm very new at this stuff.
Thank you very much!:o

if you dont trust the person enough to have access to anything else, i would suggest to make an ftp folder they alone can access and then you can relocate their files for them.
otherwise you would want to make a script that only allows upload of certain MIME types: html, htm, jpg, gif, png etc.
if they have the ability to upload a php file and access it through a browser, theoretically, they could have access to anything.

I went with the ftp idea, it was my 1st idea I had last night but my friend isn't that bright and didn't really understand it lol. But thank you for your suggestion. :)
