Currently I have two domains using FP extensions that I would like to rebuild with Joomla. I assume that installing Joomla will not overwrite my existing content.
The only question I can think of at the moment concerns the FP extensions. Can I leave them in place and run Joomla at the same time, then when I'm ready delete the extensions and the old content?
Anyone who has some expewrieince with this, thanks for any help you can give.

I don't have experience with running Joomla! with FP Extensions installed, but I don't see how either one would influence the other.
One thing to be aware of is that Joomla! creates empty index.html files in each directory it uses. This shouldn't be a problem for you expect in the case of the public_html directory, but then, there is an index.php file used by Joomla! there, so as long as you don't have any file name conflicts, you should be just fine.
What I would do is move your old sites into subfolders of their main domains. Your primary would then be "public_html/oldsite" and your other domain would be "public_html/otherdomain/oldsite".
Then you could install Joomla! into your public_html or other domain folder and play with it as much as you like. You can also install Joomla! into some test directories until you get them ready to do live, then move everything as I mentioned above. This is actually the way I would recommend you go, as you won't loose traffic or page ranking as much.

Thanks for the response and the welcome! I think that clears up my question.
