Why HM is so expensive to already customers?
New setup is $3,95 [promo], while renew is $7,95 for the same period/time!

I'm really thing to change to another hosting....

It is actually $6.95 per month for renewal fees. You should not ask the users of Hostmonster why Hostmonster is so "expensive" for renewing services.

In fact, they aren't. At $7/mo for a 24 month package, they are amoung the cheapest shared hosting provider out there.

You are certainly within your right to look elsewhere for cheaper hosting, but I don't know if you are going to find a company that offers as much as HM does at the prices HM charges (promo pricing or not).

Ha ha $7,95 is expensive (excuse my laughter) do you know how expensive it must be to maintain these servers 24hrs a day, but like shadmego you aint gonna find it cheaper anywhere else. And if you do, think to yourself are they better.

Let me tell you one thing .. You can even find hosts for $1/month. Just go to Ebay. But what do you get in return?? Absolute ****. Dude it is always a trade off between price & quality & HM provides both. Being an insider in the industry (I don't work @ HM), I know the margins are extremely low & it is only a Big company like HM which can provide services @ low cost.

For whaqt you are getting I think it's a good price. If you go for cheaper I doubt you get better quality.

ok, i didn't say it correctly.....

Expensive in comparison to NEW customers!
As an OLD customer, in my idea i should have better or the same price/promo as new customer, since i'm already using HM services!

I don't think HM is expensive in general, just when you compare to new customers promo.....that's what i'm trying to say.

Unfortunately one sees it all the time - companies wanting to attract new business rather than keep existing business.

Guess its just one of those marketing strategies...

But that's the idea behind "promo" rates. It is to entice "new" customers, not keep existing customers.

Credit card companies offer "low introductory APRs", mortgage lenders offer "First time home buyer" deals. Car companies offer special discounts for first time car buyers (college students) ... the list goes on.

I would never expect, as an existing customer, to get the same deals as new customers.

Just my opinion ...

Yes but your website will be offline for some period of time.

Is it really worth it?
