Hostmonster nameservers down!

Hi,

I have just checked why my mail and site aren't working (as others). ns1.hostmaster.com is unreachable from the USA and the UK at present. I have checked using online net tools on USA based sites. Try for yourself. BOTH nameservers (with very different IPs) are down.

System alerts shows all is up and server status says all ok. No support due to holidays :( Doing a search on forums it seems this is not an uncommon event at HM - how can they still claim 99.9% uptime?

UPDATE: It is reachable from some places in the USA, I have been trying different network tools and got one to work (been on it for 30 mins now trying from different areas).

It does not appear to be reachable from europe at present.

Importantly, it is not reachable by (an amount of big) domain registrars. In the case of godaddy this mean that they have parked all my sites. Hopefully temporarily!

This one is from the UK, my ISP, virginmedi - it also shows nameserver down (I can post from france and Germany too - that took some doing in google translater!) So that's coming at the nameserver from two totally different directions and it is still unavailable.

dont you think that it funny how this forum, which is also hosted by hm is working (using same 2 dns servers?) have you tried ns2? thats called a backup
