REading the post further on down with Mooredan contributing some excellent stuff on how he has got his to work, I am wondering if it does anything at all unless you configure it like that? I'm not trying to be negative - just trying to make a decision about whether to go ahead with what he has done?
At the moment, after transferring, I am getting a LOT more spam and trying to think of a solution. Google apps doesnt have postini on standard edition and I don't want to program SA if it doesn't really work.
The default SA install (after changing the SPAM score slightly in Cpanel) managed to mark 99% of Spam being sent to me...

Thanks - will try it out
r2b2,
What is the score you are using? The spamassassin is not doing anything at all for me. I get emails from myself that were sent from other servers, emails with Viagra in the subject line, emails with "This is an Ad" in the body of the message, emails with pictures that are the Viagra ad. All of these have rules for them yet, HostMonster is not applying them. I've found the out-of-the-box spamassassin configurations that HostMonster is providing to be horrendou and poorly thought about because of all the spam coming in.
I think it's 5.5... If you check the email headers for the spam messages you'll be able to see exactly what score/rules its applied (of course, you might have already known that :) )

I turned it on a few months ago and it blocked a lot of SPAM, but also most of my legitimate email.
