My site was build and set up by Parlot.com(I have purchased from the a turnkey web site)
1- The most important to me how to find my pages to edit them?
2- I have logged in the file manger, I click on “public html” “www” home/my site name” I didn’t find the pages and didn’t succeed to edit or to any thing to my pages, like more content, html code to each page!!!
3- The only thing I do that I succeeded to do is to verify my site with google (I have added meta tag verifying code to the index.htp)
4- Now I don’t know where to upload the robots.txt file?! As well as the site map, its must be in the roots of the domain, where I can find it?
5- How I can be sure that (Parlot.com) insert my right adsense code of goggle

Excuse me about the lot of questions and about my English:confused:
Cheers

the contents of your main domain should be found in your home/username/public_html directory (the www folder is just a link to that directory)

that is where you should upload those two files you mentioned

the file that would be displayed is most likely named index.php not index.htp (hopefully that was just a typo) the adsense code is a javascript that is usually put at the bottom of the page. if your site is dynamic, it may be located in a "footer" file.

could you give us a link to your domain so we could take a peek for you

Lot of thanks, Yes yesterday the man who set up the site for me sent me the locations where I can edit the google code, but I didn’t find any thing! This is his massage and then my site link

His email:

Hi,

First of all, I do not recommend you try to change anything if you do not know how. The site will work fine without you changing anything. If you decide to edit a files, I recommend you save a copy of that file on your computer before you change anything. I will not be responsible if the site is messed up because of changes you made.

If you want to change your google adsense code, or add affiliate links you do that in one of the following files:
includes/ad_center.php, includes/ad_left.php, includes/ad_right.php, includes/ad_top.php, includes/ad_search.php
Little html knowledge is required to make some of the changes.

How to access these files and edit them :

1- Log into your hosting cpanel using the username and password provided to you.
2- Under the files section click on "Legacy file Manager". When the pop up screen come up click go.
3- You will see the website files in alphabetical order.
4- Double click on the includes folder to open it.
5- Click on the file you want to edit and from the right menu click on "edit file".
6- You can replace the google code in any of these files or place any other affiliate code.
7- After you edit the file click on save changes.
That's it.

Your hosting cpanel comes with built in video tutorials to help you learn how to use your hosting account. We suggest you view all the tutorials.
Here is a direct link on how to use your files manager tutorial:
https://www.cpanel.net/media/tutorials/filemanager.htm
To edit your files please use the "legacy file manager" not the "file manage" button from your cpanel.

I hope that helps.

I will upload the robots file for you for free.Just give me the exact code you want to put there and I will make a file and upload it for you.

Regards,

My site:

how-to-wiki (http://www.how-to-wiki.com/)

Thanl you again(I can't do anything!!!)

that is interesting. i personally dont like legacy file manager, others do. i steer people away from it myself. i use file manager i do not use edit or html edit. i suggest using code edit, as it has syntax highlighting and that will speed things up a lot once you are familiar with editing code.

once you get into the file manager, you will need to open the file system by clicking in the left most column from home/username/ into public_html once the column on the right shows the files for that folder click upload then find your robot file and then find your other map file. one at a time. if you were doing many files, and you were not familiar with ftp, i would suggest you use unlimited ftp from your cpanel as it is simple to use with no configuring needed

I have uploaded the robots.txt file to your hosting.
I have made sure all the (includes/ad_center.php, includes/ad_left.php, includes/ad_right.php, includes/ad_top.php, includes/ad_search.php) are in your account. You can access them by using your legacy file manager. Go to public_html folder then includes folder then you will see the above files. Contact your host if you need help getting there.
The robots.tx was uploaded to the root of your host which is the public_html folder. You should also upload the sitemap in that folder.

He sent me this email again! I logged in file legacy and click on “includes”
And I see these files (I open every one) but I didn’t see where the google sdsense code is!!
My questions
1- Which file of these must I open and how (to click show at the right menu?!)
2-If I to add html code down in each page of my site where to do it?
3-In witch file of those I have to upload the site map and how to locate it in the root of this file (which must be the home page” index”
Please help, I can’t find these in the tutorials videos

these are the files when I Click on" includes" file
