changes to articles preferences not being saved

I can't save changes to Article Parameters (Joomla!1.5.9). I click 'Save' on the Edit Preferences page, and it just reloads.

Articles that I have created since the migration show the default Author, Date, Icons, etc. - they ignore the global settings.

I just migrated my site here. My old host was using MySQL 4 - is this the problem? If so, how do I fix??

Any help will be much appreciated - I've sought in these (and other) forums, and not found.

Try checking the Home link in the default menu system for your site. The "Frontpage Layout" has controls for article settings as well as the article preferences link. It also seems to override the default article preferences.

You should also look at Category and Section Blog and list layouts as well as each individual article. All of those places have article preference selections that can affect the default preference options.

I assumed that Global Article Preferences superseded Section and Category item layouts. I'll check these.
