Hi everyone!

This problem might have such a simple solution that I'll need to slap myself after this, but anyways...

I installed Joomla! using SimpleScripts in my site's public_html directory. Everything went smoothly, except for a single detail... whenever I tried to access it, it wouldn't show anything at all. Just a blank page: blank favicon, blank title, BLANK. It didn't load anything.

After wondering what was the reason behind this, I decided to play around with the URL. Guess what? If you remove the ''www.'' part, the site shows up. Also, if you add ''/index.php'' at the end of the URL, independently of it having ''www.'' or not, it works. Basically, the problem is accessing the site when it has the full URL, or without ''/index.php''.

Note that this is only a problem when trying to enter the site's frontpage, not with going to the /administrator or anything.

But there's another funny thing about it. In Internet Explorer, this isn't a problem at all. No matter how you write or access the URL, the site loads properly. I even tested copy-pasting the SAME URL on both browsers, and it only works properly in Internet Explorer.

What could be causing this? Is there something I need to modify? Why is this only a problem in Firefox?

I haven't tested on any other PCs/browsers, but later on I'm going to see if the same problem occurs on another PC. And BTW, I'm running Firefox 3.0.7 (latest).

Thanks in advance!

P.S.: Other than this, loving HostMonster so far!

I've worked with several different Joomla! installations and have never run into this problem. If possible, can you post your URL so I can have a run at the problem?

Initially, it sounds like an issue with .htaccess, but by default, Joomla! installs a htaccess.txt file, not the active .htaccess version.

Hi, thanks for the reply and the welcome!

Here is the link for my website:

http://www.teleprogresotv.net/

That link does not open anything to me on Firefox. If it works properly for you, then at least that would be a relief considering that the problem is only local. If the same problem happens to you, you can confirm what I'm saying by removing the ''www.'' and seeing how it works that way. You can also paste it on Internet Explorer to check that it only happens in Firefox. Testing on other browsers would be a good idea too.

So far I've tried not to concern much about it and rather work on building the site.

Thanks.

Well, the good news is that your site opened for me in both Internet Explorer and FF 3 (latest version).

The bad news is that it looks like you have some local troubleshooting to do.

You're not going to believe this...

It simply fixed itself. I have no explanation for this... it just got fixed by itself. After having the same problem for 2 days, I decided to check out of the blue and the problem is gone.

I have a mixed feeling of happiness, relief and confusion...

Well, thanks for the support!
