IMAP/SMTP ?? HELP Trying to get email on Palm Centro

Hello, I would like to get my Palm Centro smartphone to get my email from my Hostmonster website.

I contacted ATT, and they told me that I could get the info from Hostmonster, but I can't find out anything!!!

I am fairly new, and an amateur when it comes to web design...(MS Publisher site) and I do not understand what the heck an IMAP or a SMTP server is, or where mine is located, and what the username is......

I am not stupid, just not getting my head around it...

If anyone can help me out, I will be eternally greatful.

If you have settings for both pop and smtp entries on your Palm Centro, then you will want to use mail.yourdomain.com as the servers for both entries.

Your username and password will be your ENTIRE email address and password associated with said address.

IMAP is a secure way to send and receive email. Again, you can use the same addresses mentioned above for this, but you will get warnings that your connection is not encrypted, or that the server name is not the same for the security certificate you are trying to use.

Instead, if you want to use IMAP with your Palm Centro, then you would want to use the following address for the IMAP server:

hostXX.hostmonster.com where XX is the number of the box your account is on. You can find this number by logging into your CPanel account and looking on the left side of the screen.

Again, use your whole email address as the username.
