I'm a current HostMonster customer, and so are most of our clients... One of our clients has two domains and their own HostMonster account. They need a secure subdomain on their addon domain https://sub.domain2.com and it is my understanding that HostMonster doesn't support this?

Is there really no workaround for this??

Could we purchase a seperate ssl for this subdomain?

If we got a full account for the addon domain, can we install the ssl to the subdomain?

If HostMonster will not support this, then do you know of a webhost that does? The https://sub.domain2.com url is very important to the customer.

I think SSL is only supported on the main account's site probably due to the way that shared hosting is setup.

You're best to talk over the options with the Hostmonster support guys.

Correct, the main account is the only one that will support SSL. Hostmonster can change the main account domain to the addon domain, but you must fully backup all site configuration and files because all data is lost during this type of transition.
