I would like to set this up on my domain, can this process be done for my domain?

I would love to learn all the new functions and recreate the wheel but this will acomplish what i have planned.

User logs into web app and retrives mail through mysql instead of using imap_maildir() or other functions.

I'm pretty sure this is outside the capabilities of a shared hosting environment.
