Hey guys i'm trying to run my hostmonster website from localhost but rather than copying all the files from my server to my localhost i'm wanting to create a new website offline and then upload it later when i have everything working. My main big problem is ImageMagick there isn't a good component for Joomla that doesn't depend on ImageMagick, I enjoy using Rs Gallery 2, Community Builder, Seyret, HWD, and fireboard and ImageMagick is great for it but it comes automatically with HostMonster so i've never installed it. I've installed ImageMagick on my C: Drive and is working fine but Joomla doesn't detect it, I installed Phbb3 to test if it was working and i could use ImageMagick no problem with it but Joomla doesn't detect it i've asked for help on the Joomla and Wamp forums but i haven't got any help so do you guys know what the cause of the problem is.

P.s I've tried Joomla 1.0 and 1.5 and none pick it up but PHBB tells and shows me it's working.

speaking of clearly... nevermind

what dog is saying is:

even though imagemagick is installed and php bb detects it fine, joomla (or his version of joomla) is not detecting it.

i havent had this issue (i dont know anything about imagemagick) but can you give me something to look for so i can walk through my install.

--what error messages do you get?
--how do you know it doesnt detect it

wait a minute... it works on hm but not on your lamp setup. is that what your saying?

It's basically on Wamp, I'm just trying to get it running from my http://localhost so i can test my site before i start uploading, i'm using wamp to run as my home server and i have imagemagick installed and i've edited the wamp php config files and php extensions which has it installed but it doesn't work with joomla and was and still is driving me mad.

The reason why i know Joomla doesn't detect it and Imagemagick works and was installed fine is because Bulletin Board forum detects it so this has to be Joomla's fault and of course are taking no responsibility of a glitch by not responding to me on the forums.

If i didn't have ImageMagick installed properly then Bulletin Board wouldn't detect it either but it does, and i can use it fine ?????

If one program is detecting Imagemagick and another is not, then you should look at the configuration files for the errant program to see if the path to Imagemagick is entered correctly.

I'm not entirely sure where the config line is for Imagemagick but you might want to start looking in the global configuration section in the admin area. If it's not there, you can try to dig further and look in the database or other files. I bet a look through the dev docs will prove useful.

It's been awhile since I've played with Joomla! in any serious way so I feel like my chops are kind of rusty right now ... and I'm sluggish from too much turkey earlier .....
