Is it possible? Will I get my money back? How do you cancel it?

yes and yes. Full refund before 30 day trail, pro-rated afterward. You do not get a refund for your domain name, however, the domain is in your name and you can take it with you.

O come off it RDM.

*** removed for inflammatory comments ***

I should have listened to my friend and gone with the host he recommended.

I'm not here to defend Hostmonster or RDM. I'm here to correct misbehavior.

You will notice your post above has been "edited". I did this because I felt the need to keep your post there, but because it was filled with inflammatory statements I had to remove most of the content.

First, you seem dissatisfied enough not to really believe much of anything I say, so I don't expect to persuade you in any way. I do however, want to correct a few misunderstandings you have about the way this forum works.

Second, if you read this post: Please Read Before Posting (http://www.hostmonsterforum.com/showthread.php?t=264), you would know this is a user-to-user forum. RDM, myself and all the other moderators have nothing more to do with HM than yourself. We are normal users that pay for their hosting like everyone else. We have the same level of access to support as any other HM client. We volunteer our time to help manage these forums. None of us have anything to do with HM advertising or their business practices.

Third, if you rumage around the forums, you will find I am a very tolerant person; especially to those that have a grip with HM. I encourage negative reviews because I feel that an informed decision is a good one. People need to hear the good and the bad.

The post above, however goes beyond the bounds of decorum and general negative reviews. It is simply filled with language and accusations I will not tolerate.

You can learn about Hostmonster's limits of CPU usage if you do a simple search on the forums. This issue has been discussed at length here. You can also find out the limits by asking Support. Bandwidth, Space and domains are unlimited. These have nothing to do with CPU exceeded errors. You seem knowledgable enough in web hosting terminology to at least know this.

The pro-rated refund is something HM offers to people like you that don't want to wait to get out of their contract. In fact, I'm suprised they even offer this. I don't argue about it though, it's not my business.

Take care what you post next, my friend. you are in danger of getting your forum account banned for attitude problems. I don't want to see this happen. I welcome your insight. I just require it to be more restrained and informative. I don't want to see you attacking others with baseless accusations as you did RDM.

Again, I'm not defending him. He is perfectly capable of handling himself and I suspect you will be hearing from him shortly.

~regards, and welcome to the community

O.k first off, I apologise sincerely for my vituperation in my earlier post. I guess I truly acted out of bounds and without courtsey and decorum. Forgive me please Shadmego.

The fact is that I was (and still am) angry with HM cos it's not what I expected that I'm getting.

But sincerely, I hope the guys at HM visit this forum. It would pay them to do so if they really have the interests of their customers at heart.

Anyway, as you already know, I'm a new member and in my anger, I didn't take the time to read through the forum before posting. So, I think I should do just that now. Once again, my apologies.

Apologies accepted from me .... (RDM is another story! ;))

Listen, I can certainly appreciate the frustration that comes with the downtime of a website and what seems like an utter lack of support. Been there ... done that ... I want you to feel you can come here to vent and be frustrated.

For what it's worth, I regret that you had to spend money on hosting services you were not expecting. I hope that you and HM can work something out to get you happy again.

~regards

RDM, I apologise to you too and hope you'd accept it in the spirit of sportsmanship just like Shadmego.

Btw, I've been trying to access my site (www.nanajeria.com) but kept getting a "500 Internal Server Error" error message. I can't even log into the CP with my account. I tried to check the server status and got this error: "Software error:
Could not connect to database: Can't connect to MySQL server on '10.0.50.202' (111)
For help, please send mail to the webmaster (support@hostmonster.com), giving this error message and the time and date of the error".

I don't know if this is a general problem or peculiar to me. The site was working fine this morning.

It's fine, I can understand frustration, but get your facts straight before you accuse.

If you ever have problems getting to your cpanel again using www.yourdomain.com/cpanel (http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel), you can try to bypass this by logging into the HM main page, www.hostmonster.com (http://www.hostmonster.com) with your domain name, yourdomain.com and your cpanel password.

Most times you won't be able to, if CPanel is really down, but it's worth a try anyway.

If you are getting 500 errors also, you can try to log into your FTP account and look for errors.txt files in your site's directory structure. These should provide good info on what the error is.
