I check my stats daily and it seems that it's later, and later, and later in the day until I can see my updated stats.

I know this may seem trivial to most of you, but my statistics tell me what's working and what;s not. It's part of my daily routine.

I used to be able to see my udated awstats at 9am Eastern Time. Now, it's well after 4pm or even later as I don't check them until late evening now.

Can someone explain why it is taking longer to update awstats? Is there something I need to do?

Thanks in advance!

I used to have that issue, then I set mine to update manually when I wanted it to. See my post near the bottom of this thread for how to set it up:

I tried this - File Manager > Tmp folder

However, when the TMP folder expanded, "AWSTATS" appeared to be a file and not a folder.

I clicked on it and the only file I could see said something like "custom.txt"

I came over to hostmonster from godaddy last night and I'm trying to set everything up.

When I click "file manager" on the control panel page, I click the "home directory" radio button and my site url is the only option in the dropdown... is something awry?

Thanks

Does anyone know whether you can remove your own IP address from the statistics?

Thanks

you are in the right folder. you should be looking for a file named:
awstats.<your domain>.conf
Here's one of mine-->awstats.pghcollectibles.com.conf

that is the file you would edit to customize it (if you know what you're doing)

the file that contains the data that was stored for a certain month looks like this:
awstats<date the file was made>.<your domain>.txt
Here's one of mine-->awstats122008.pghcollectibles.com.txt
