I am curious. There are services that allow to run your business programs virtually. For my company we are interested in possible having quickbooks run from our server for our accountant to use only. Is it possible for me to install quickbooks on webdisk or some other way somehow on our shared hosting account?

If not, what services may do that?, if so how do I do that. This would give my company complete flexability. Any suggestions would be most helpful and appreciated

I believe you will need a Windows server to do this; HM uses Linux servers.

Secondly, for security reasons I would use a server within your office LAN (preferably behind a firewall). This will also allow for less lag time for clients since your workstations should all be networked via ethernet. Even if your users need shared server software access from outside the LAN you can probably set up VPNs. All this, of course, would be something that your IT department should handle.

FYI: Copyrighted material is against the TOS. Do not put anything that has a copyright, such as software on HM servers. This will get your accounted suspended pretty quick.

Copyright laws a side, something like this would still be against the TOS. You may only use your web space for file associated with your website only. No personal backups are allowed.

Hi,
I agree with that, a server in the office may help a lot to you, it will give a extra support as well as the security to the network, if it doesn't work then go for the technical support. I also use this system for my business.
