Hi all,
Ok this is embarrassing. But Im having trouble setting up an e-mail account with Mozilla's Thunderbird program to access my e-mail from my domain. The settings Im using are what's instructed for a manual config. The way I set up my POP3 setting are:
Manual Settings
Incoming Server (POP3) = mail.domain name here.com
Account Name: my name@my domain name.com
I get this when I try to get e-mail:
Alert
Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server mail.domain name.com responded: Login failed.
Hope someone can help and thanks.

If memory serves me right, I believe you are supposed to use 'hostxyz.hostmonster.com' as your incoming or outgoing server (where xyz is your host number). I don't use Hostmonster to manage my site's webmail anymore, so perhaps someone else can clarify this.

I also need to know how to set up another email handler or forward domain email. I am having so much trouble with my hostmonster domain mail lately. It loads so slowly using squirrel or round cube that most of the time it "times out" and I have to access it over and over until it finally loads. This is business mail so its important.
I'm not too tech savy so if anyone has a simple solution I would appreciate it.

1. The email domain name is going to be the same for both smtp and pop3:
mail.yourdomain.com
2. What security settings are you trying to use? TLS? SSL? etc? Try turning all that off and see if you can connect.
3. Make quadrupal sure you are using the proper email account and password.
the username for your email account is your full email address:
username@yourdomain.com
If that doesn't work, try username+yourdomain.com
pmh
Google mail for your domain will provide you with instructions on how to set up the mail redirects. On a side note, I have installed a version of roundcube manually and use that from time to time with zero issues. I get 1 or two emails every day with my HM account. I mostly use Thunderbird to check my HM account via IMAP and have only had a few issues with the password being dropped and having to reenter it to connect. This happened maybe twice over the summer.
~regards to both of you and lesfackrell, welcome to the community
