I have a HostMonster email address of "myname@mydomain.com"
I have a Gmail address of "myname@gmail.com"
I also have many forwards setup to forward to my "myname@mydomain.com" address. I now realize that if I forward all mail from "myname@mydomain.com" to "myname@gmail.com", then everything's cool on Gmail, but the email would remain also in my HostMonster email box.
From reading the forums, I know that normally to prevent mail from accumulating on HostMonster, you would just not create an actual mailbox called "myname@mydomain.com" and instead just setup a forwarder of that name (which forwards to Gmail.)
So the question is, if I now delete my mailbox "myname@mydomain.com", then setup a forwarder for that name to go to Gmail, will my other forwards to "myname@mydomain.com" work, cascading email from many forwards to one, which then forwards to Gmail? (How's that for a long sentence?? ;-)
Right now I actually just have Gmail using IMAP to pull my email from HostMonster, but the problem with that is that it only checks once an hour. I'd like to push email to Gmail instead of pulling from Gmail, without leaving a copy of the email on HostMonster.
Thanks!
