Hi all, I went to the admin and created a clean rails environment.
and tryed to test it.

also I created a rewrite for it.

When trying to access it from browser I get no activity on my log/mongrel.log
When looking at the tasks the machine is running I can see that mongrel is running.

somehow its running but its not accessable to the outside.
by looking at mongrels dump I can see that the binding is set to this.

** Starting Mongrel listening at 0.0.0.0:12009

Long story short..

would anybody provide some info about how to get a rails app running ?
with the hostmonster ?

great! that was very helpful. Thanks a lot!
I got something running, I looked into the site but couldn't find this.

logged in through ssh but it looks like there is no svn but cvs
is it in anyway possible to checkout development-source from another server
for deploying purposes?

Hi, thanks for your support!
I followed the steps and I got it running..
then I basically removed the dinamically genereated rails folder and uploaded mine
through ftp.
and configured, installed database + gems and paths.
I can launch my server through ssh but when I try to run it through cPanel
it does not start nor I can access it through normal apache I get a error from the .htaccess file that I copied from

http://helpdesk.hostmonster.com/kb/index.php?x=&mod_id=2&id=391

help?

I am not trying to run it though mongrel, just did it to make sure all configuration settings are set correctly and that is running! I Ctrl-c it right after I notice it works

This is a user-to-user forum. No one that works for Hostmonster offers support here. If you have a problem, try contacting support through LiveChat at Hostmonster.com and explain the situation.

Perhaps they can fix your attitude whilst you're at it.

LOL, touchè.

Please feel free to post any answers that technical support offers, it may help others in the future, or help members troubleshoot your problem. I've never worked with RoR, so unfortunately, I can only do so much.
