I was unable to get even the most basic stored procedure to run in MySQL here at Hostmonster (due to privileges) and I couldn't find any mention of them anywhere in the Hostmonster help files or forums through the search features, so ended up opening a ticket. I just thought I'd pass along the info that they related to me and possibly save others the frustration that I just experienced.
Hostmonsters' response to my ticket: If you need to use stored procedures in MySQL, you'll have to find hosting elsewhere.
The bottom line is that, no I don't absolutely require them... and realistically, there as many arguments against using SPROCS as there are for them - I'm not here to debate that. However, I do feel as though I should have the choice - or at a minimum, Hostmonster should be forthcoming about their self-imposed limitation in their documentation, let alone prior to account sign-ups.
At this point I'm still undecided as to whether I'll stay or move to new hosting as I'm already paid up for a few more months. You can certainly bet that in the very least I will be looking around for hosts that provide support for all of the features in the products they stake claim to support.
