OK, there are 10 (!) content managers in Fantastico.
Who likes what? Favorites? Ones to avoid? :D

hehe ... anyone that knows me knows what I'm going to say.
One of the best things to keep in mind when researching a CMS is the age of that CMS. Normally, the older it is, the more mature it is.
Having said that, the one I am going to recommend is probably the youngest one out there, but it has made the biggest impact, and the creators have taken an older CMS and made this new one.
The CMS I'm referring to is Joomla! and it is an offspring of the developers that brought us the Mambo CMS. Though Joomla! is only just over a year old, they are getting ready to release their second iteration of the project with Joomla! 1.5. The older version is Mambo and it has been around for about 4 or 5 years, so the code behind Joomla! is solid, sound, and very mature. Add to this that many of the same addons for Mambo can also be used in Joomla!.
I like this program because it is incredibly easy to install, has addons that can handle just about anything you might need, and has a very large, and active, community. You can check them out at www.joomla.org. You can find their extensions at extensions.joomla.org. You can also pm me if you have more specific quesitons about this program.

I'll second the recommendation for Joomla!. I have not yet set up a site that is published, but I looked into many different aspects of CMSs within the last 6 months. I am involved with photography so I need a good image manager, and due to another site I had been working was interested in blog integration as well. Joomla! has both of the "best" (from what I was able to find) solutions for these. Gallery is the image manager, and WordPress for blogging.
I set up a sample site, and pulled both in and it worked easily and quickly. But realize, I am a programmer by trade, and have worked with other CMSs so the concept was easy for me to pick up.
good Luck,

Not to mention the fact that Joomla! won the award for best open source project for last year ... and it turned one year old on October 25th I think. I saw this in a magazine (Ubunto) I think in the book store the other night.
I'm looking for a programmer to help me past a problem I'm having with a site. If you know php and mysql, I would be in debt if you could help out ... even if just giving advice.
*Sorry* didn't mean to hijack the thread! ;)

Drupal (http://www.drupal.org)is the best. They just celebrated their 6th birthday recently. They have their 5.0 (http://drupal.org/drupal-5.0) version out. I have been using it for 2 years now. I would suggest installing it by hand though and not go through fantastico. See warnings (http://drupal.org/forum/fantastico-de-luxe)about fantastico on drupal site.
Latest version of Drupal has web based install, so it's much simpler to install now.
Id have to say Cpgnuke.com its self install but its well worth it
