Totally new migrant to HM, and have tonite just discovered that/why my pre-existing asp pages are dead. :(
I'm interested in switching to php (not much choice at this stage), but in looking at Fantastico I am wondering how each of the scripts are "rated" or looked upon - is there a summary review of the contents of Fantastico or should I just keep clicking on each home link page from each item and trying to read up on them myself? Thanks...

best way is to just keep visiting the sites and google the script names for reviews. You'll definetly be much happier with php, it has so many more benefits than ASP

One thing I can see already is that I am going to need to convert my database file from an access format to MySQL. Don't want to have to rekey several hundred joad archery clubs information by hand, and it looks like one heckuva learning curve ahead of me with the php. I am thinking that I will have to install some form of MySQL on my development box. This is a one-time-needed conversion of this file.
As for php, I welcome ncreased security - I was plagued by autobots cramming records into the file, and I am betting that php has walls that prevent that kinda problem. (??)
