Before I came to hostmonster I used profusehost.net and the had the email setup so that the email account that was created when you signed up could expand the inbox and there would be a folder which contained all of the email accounts that I setup. Does hostmonster have this setup. I hope they do because it would take alot less time to go into each account and view the mail. I will include a picture below this so you know what I am talking about. If they dont have this I would like to know how many people would be interested in this and I will ask the support to see if they can set this up.

There are some grammatical errors in the text in the picture but you get the idea.

One solution is to have only one e-mail account and make the rest address redirections to that account. That way you'll have all your mail in one account and it would be the same.

i tested it with horde and i believe the problem is that folder sharing is disabled on the server. I'm not sure if this something we can change or if it requires support to alter.

I will wait another half an hour to see if one of the moderators will say something about it if not I will submit a support ticket.

I found that you can't do that. After cpanel started using maildir instead of mbox you dont have that functionality which sucks because I want to be able to read over some of the email account to make sure nothing inappropriate is in there.

Wouldn't that be a little bit anti-privacy?

I am a part time teacher assistant and I work with the dumbest web design teacher. I setup an addon domain for the students so they could host their websites and I wanted to give them an email for school related stuff and I was told by my boss(pricipal) that I had to monitor everything including email.

Monitoring email for a company that supports its own email server is actually quite a common practice. It's in most AUPs (Acceptable Use Policy) for medium to large organizations.

Requiring the monitoring of email accounts on publicly hosted servers is something I'm not too familiar with, though in the case of students, I can sort of understand as it is the administrators (and teachers) job to keep the students safe ... even from themselves.

You may be able to get some type of monitoring on the email accounts through the File Manager feature of CPanel.

For every email address created, a folder is set up in the main account directory, /home/account/mail

There might possibly be a way to monitor emails through this way, though I'm not sure how you will get to read the files. Someone else might be able to give more information on this.
