Vista Ultimate | Thunderbird version 2.0.0.16 (20080708)

I randomly get this Domain Name Mismatch error (see attachment) when sending email. It seems to happen more often when I have attached an image. Anyone else with this problem? Help appreciated, IM

I believe you are supposed to use 'hostXYZ.hostmonster.com' as your SMTP/outgoing server, where "XYZ" is unique to your account's server.

This is only showing because you are attempting to connect to your server using an encrypted protocol .. SSL or TLS. Because the encryption is negotiated between Thunderbird and the server, the server name will be a very important part of the process. If you don't have your own SSL certificate for your SMTP server, you will get this error every time you attempt to connect to your email account.

To get rid of this error you can either:

1. Purchase a dedicated IP and get your own SSL cert for your email server
2. Stop using an encrypted protocol to connect to your email account.
