hello everybody,
just 2 question:
1. is JRE (Java Runtime Environment) installed on hostmonster?
2. if not, is it possible, to install it?
Best regards, Sanne

java is a client side scripting language not server side.
java is a client side scripting language not server side.
Java is not JavaScript. Java is a server side scripting language, JavaScript is a client side scripting language.
Java Runtime Environment is a client side application.

I want to install a script. In the technical requirements is mentioned:
"Make sure JRE (Java Runtime Environment) is installed on your server. If not, you should advise with your hosting provider support service or you can install it by yourself. You can download the distribution kit for JRE from the Sun company official site."
So, JRE must installed on the server !
Best regards, Sanne
I don't think Java is supported. Contact hostmonster support with live chat.

I found that JRE and JDK were not installed on my host. I also found that JRE and JDK can be installed without root access. So, you can download the JRE from Sun, and install it using your SSH shell access. But I also suspect that this will not be the full answer to your problem--I suspect that you are trying to do something that requires an app server like Tomcat or Resin. Those will probably require root access, and and are a whole different ballgame from standard HTML web pages.
