Transfering New Domain

I want to host a simple website for a friend. He already has a website hosted with IX and wants to transfer it to here. I would like to add his site code to a sub directory to what I already have. So when things are done his domain will pull from one of my sub directories.

Can someone layout the steps for me, or point me in the right direction?

do you want it to be an add-on domain or a sub-domain those are the key words if you search for info. will your friend keep their domain that currently exists? (add-on) or only be in a folder of yours ie: http://friendsdomain.yourdomain.com or http://www.yourdomain.com/friendsdomain (those are both sub domains)
