Okay,
I added a domain name to my primary account right? thinking this would be easy, oh no, why is it redirections don't work?
where do I start to make it look like it's an entirely different website. It's really frustrating me because I thought this would be easier as my current website has minimum traffic and I would save a bunch by adding a new domain name to my already created account,
no I'm thinking I should've just started an entirely new account.
I'm pretty frustrated, sorry,
please help
(I have all my current website in the public html directory, not one of it's own, not sure if that's anything but...fyi..)
I'm begging you guys for any leads,
thanks art

First of all, welcome to the community!
From the Hostmonster Helpdesk: Can I have multiple domains pointing to my site? (http://helpdesk.hostmonster.com/kb/index.php?x=&mod_id=2&id=73)
Log into to your Hostmonster account (https://www.hostmonster.com/cgi/hosting) and you will see the current domain names assigned to your website. Just click on the 'Add domain' link and you should be taken to a setup page for adding a different domain name.
For Step 1, the following option should be selected: "Use a domain that is not already associated with your account." Enter your new domain name in the 'Domain' field.
For Step 2 you will need to verify ownership of the domain. Make sure that the new domain name points to the Hostmonster nameservers:
ns1.hostmonster.com
ns2.hostmonster.com
If your new domain name was registered through Hostmonster, these nameservers should already be set.
For Step 3 you will use be using 'Parked Domain'. Read the description of what this means; makes sense, doesn't it?
Step 4 is only applicable when setting up an addon domain or subdomain. Click "Add domain" and you should be finished.

artist said "entirely different website". this would mean add-on domain. if i had site main.com and parked.com and you typed parked.com it would show your main.com
every parked domain refers to the public_html folder. an add-on would have its own folder (created automatically by cpanel when you go through the domain manager) inside the public_html folder
the public_html file htaccess could be edited to keep people from typing http://www.main.com/addon/ (http://%5BURL) they would have to type http://www.addon.com
now if you dont want an entirely different "website" just an entirely different "url" then the parked thing is indeed correct and i apologize for all that rambling.

okay I got it so my 'www.addondomain.com is present and it seems to be by itself, now lets say I want to add a page such as community.html,
I have this:
I need this:
how to do this?
i wish this site had a more helpful area with domain management, it seems like it was all thrown at me.

If your addon domain was set up successfully, you should be able to display "community.html" by using going to 'http://www.addondomain/community.html'.
Are you saying that the above is not working?

what falcon said is true. that second part is if you want to prevent people from seeing the page by going to http://www.maindomain.com/addondomain/community.html that would require an htaccess modification of which i am not well versed in but there have been quite a few threads here on that subject.

tc,
yes it does indeed work for me know! I can even logon to the ftp with the addon domain.
when adding your domain, you need to choose the file the site contains in right? so since my site was www.thesims3world.com I created a file under 'public-html' as sims3world. then that was the root directory for my addon domain.
So you did you the addon domain right? and not the parked?
But what i had to figure out was that you have to manually try it out.
for example mine was www.superireland.com/sims3world/index.php
so I manually took out the superireland part and added the so I got:
www.thesims3world.com/index.php
I cleared my cahce because I was using firefox and voila, it worked! took me a while, same thing with images.
I want you to email me if you still have a problem, because I can do it step by step for ya.

tc,
try this:
www.addondomain.com/community.html
see where that takes you.
the file manager reads it as all maindomain.com until you create the addon file and allow only that file to be visible for the addondomain.com address.
