After reading tutorials by Sidorak95, I decided to give my FrontPage another try (I love the ease of setting your site up). I have activated my extensions, renamed my file, and tried Unlimited FTP. After all this, my site loads, but shows up blank. I am soooo frustrated with Hostmonsters and all the hoops, any advice? PLEASE???

Thanks for the help guys!

the <image src= points to a folder named index_files that should be in the public_html folder. something is not where its supposed to be, whether its the code or the files. did you upload your pictures to a different folder? you can rename that folder to index_files but it has to be in the public_html folder or you will have to change your code

I did not purposely upload into a different folder, just hit upload. It does list the file underneath the index file, but then also put the pic in _wizardimages. FTP will not allow a name change on the folder.

I just tried to make a new file image_files and redirect the pics to that file...no go *sigh* I'm going to need a straight jacket by the time I'm done!

What are you using to create the web page? There seems to be a lot of "code bloat", similar to what one would get from using Microsoft Word as an HTML editor.

Another thing is that I notice a lot of file paths to local PC directories, e.g. C:/Users/etc. The web page may load just fine on your PC, but these absolute paths will not work once you upload them to your web space.

I am using FrontPage. I have used it before very successfully (Yahoo Hosting) and have not come across this problem. How would I go about fixing it? I have used FrontOage so long, that I am not familiar with all of this.

Thanks again

the image_files would be a folder not a file and the pictures do not need redirected (htaccess thing) just either copy or move them into that folder. like falcon said there may be other issues to fix. lets just do one problem at a time for now.

any online editing can be done using file manager

I would not publish using FrontPage. My 2000 version uploads all the files from the folder called My Webs. When your website gets bigger and if you're like me, it'll have alot of files in it. Let's say you only wanted to update index.htm or whatever file extension it is. You will be uploading alot of other files for nothing. I suggest you use Unlimited FTP.

I actually removed all files I put in and am now uploading one by one through Unlimited...crossing my fingers!

And now I have a background, working link, and no pics....soo confused!

I see a picture of wine. Is that it? Anyways, the link doesn't work. I also see an broken image that says text box on your logo.

you can upload more than one file at a time if you wished in unlimited
