Uploading site

Okay, so I know how to make a website and everything, using the HTML notepad thing on my computer, so that it's saved to my hard drive. I made the site i would like to upload, but i cannot figure out how to bring the site and all the files from my hard drive, to the Host Monster website, how to set it so that it opens upon entering the site. I also cannot figure out what the directory changes to after i would upload the site. Any help would be appreciated.

if you do not already have an ftp program that you use. you can use the one called unlimited ftp which you will find in the cpanel files tab.

when someone goes to your website at www.yourdomain.com, they will be viewing index.html or index.php usually. that file as you are looking at your own file structure would look like /home/username/public_html/index.php.

you can also use the file manager also located in the files tab to edit and upload/download files, etc. the only downside is one at a time uploading. so if you have many files to upload id recomend ftp otherwise filemanager.

whatever you end up likeing the best. i do a lot of editing on the server files, some do it all from their own pc and upload it doesnt really matter.

file names and other things ARE case sensitive
