I plan to sign up with a hosting company in the next week or two. My needs are quite simple - a small amount of disk space (500mb would be ample), php5, mySQL, and possibly cgi. I'm based in Thailand, and so will 95% of all my site visitors, but I'm considering getting the web site hosted outside of Thailand due to commercial reasons and customer support (Thailand is not known for great customer services). I'd be happy paying anything up to USD 15 per month.

For those of you with some experience of hostmonster, have you been happy with the service provided? Are you aware of any speed issues with clients connecting from Asia (and Thailand in particular) or elsewhere? We had an earthquake somewhere in Asia yesterday which has made international traffic very very slow, but if someone would like to post me a link to their hostmonster web site I'll check it out to assess access speed sometime next week.

Thanks,

Kerry

I have been happy with my service. I have experienced only one interruption in service, which I'm told was related to the ISP rather than Hostmonster. The sites in my signature are all hosted on Hostmonster.

Been onboard since October of 2006, and am pleased with the service. I have a simple web page as a placeholder, so that won't help you much, but I am very impressed with the spam filtering ability. HM uses Spam Assassin on their email server and it can be tweaked by the user. It can be aggressive or relaxed. There's also the "Boxtrapper" function. I find this to be very good for personal email. Set it up and you'll never see spam in your personal email.

I was a member of BlueHost.com (a sister company to HostMonster) and am a current member of hostmonster --- I have been very happy with both companies since day one.

I won't say that I haven't had a few issues because there have been some some outages (as a previous person mentioned) and some complications with one of my sites (but that's unique to me).

What I will say is that my sites gets some pretty good usage and HostMonster is always there when an issue does come up.

My recommendation is join now --- save yourself some headaches and money...

Now I just wish I new how to set up a referral so I could make some money off of you joining! :)

10-15% of my users are from Asia, and I have yet to experience complaints.

I had no problems with Hostmonster. You get a lot of extra stuff in your control panel, it's easy to use. The new control panel is even better! I have a russian website hosted with HM and the speed is great. I had no complaints from the users of my website. So if you are still thinking - sign up now!

I've been with Hostmonster since December of 2006, and love every moment of it. The very rare times (only twice) I've experienced downtime, it was immediately fixed after support was contacted. You can not find customer service like this anywhere else.

I have only been with Hostmonster since July 2007 but I am very happy with the service. I like all of the free extras. Phone support is excellent.
