View Full Version : Installing Joomla! without SimpleScripts

So, I want to install Joomla on my hostmonster site, it looks great, but SimpleScripts only offers v. 1.5.X, and I'd like to use a Joomla extension that's only compatible with 1.0.X. Do I need to create a MySQL first? I've downloaded the Joomla package, where should I upload it to? And I do have a plain HTML/CSS website up already, will Joomla delete it? (I don't mind if it does, but need to know.)

Would it possibly be easier to install it using SimpleScripts, and have that generate everything, then change Joomla versions?

Point me in the right direction, please?

you can try to install it with fantastico? that blue smiley face in the software/services section in cpanel? click it and then find Joomla! and not Joomla 1.5.

I installed Joomla with Simple Scripts and Fantastico. I am facing the same issue with both installations. All images are not shown, including the images Joom la uses as Icons for the administrator site. Is this happening only with me? What am I doing wrong, as the scripts generates everything?

Is it possible to provide a link to the site you are having problems with?

The only issue I've seen with a fresh install of Joomla! and images not showing is having some type of Leech Protection system turned on. I can't help without seeing what you are talking about.

Be sure you've enabled images to display if you have the "Disable Hotlinking" function turned on.

is for example a picture for your logo here (http://regalodevida.biz/templates/waterandstone/images/logo.gif) and spelled correct. file names are case sensitive. besides the forbidden it said there was a 404 file not found error when i went to look at that location for your logo image
