I can acess it through my hostmonster account under File Manager

but I also use a program called Smart FTP Client

I hope somebody here has heard of this program

I use it to upload big files, but now I can't sign into it, it says

[13:14:22] SmartFTP v2.5.1005.26
[13:14:22] Resolving host name "split-media.net"
[13:14:22] Connecting to 74.220.207.108 Port: 21
[13:14:23] No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
[13:14:23] Cannot login waiting to retry (30s)...
[13:14:23] Client closed the connection.
[13:14:23] Active Help: http://www.smartftp.com/support/kb/index.php/58

Please help me ASAP

Thanks :)

It sounds to me like something happened with the HM firewall and your IP address got blocked.

It happened to me a few times many moons ago and the only way to fix the problem is to contact support and ask them to put your local computer's IP address on the whitelist.

You can try to do this yourself by logging into your HM account on www.hostmonster.com (http://www.hostmonster.com) using your domain name and CPanel password.

Click on Profile and then find Customer Preferences. The whitelist you can modify is labeled MySQL whitelist, so I don't know if this will fix your problem. I think it's at least worth a try.

I do know Support will be able to help out. I suggest using Live Chat on their homepage (www.hostmonster.com (http://www.hostmonster.com)).

It may also be a good idea, though not required, to use "ftp.split-med.net"

Just a suggestion.

I too generally let the hostname resolve itself.
