Cig / perl help needed by uneducated old disabled person

My love is family history and trying to get a on the fly software program called IGN running on HM is what this is about.

I know nothing about computers, .cig scripts or perl but I do want that program on my web site hosted by HM.

I am on a win xp 450 computer and use WS_FTP95 to put up my static web pages. I can create HTML and folders ok. That is about all that I know how to do. I can hunt and peck type but have trouble seeing. Also have spinal cord injury so just moving my hands at time is hard can't walk etc.

I can find no help for it from any of the contact people given. I have tried for over two weeks. So I opened a HM ticket and they sent me here

There is one very imporant script called IGMINI that needs to be edited and my info put there and I don't know how to do this. He also talks about running the commad from the shell but I can add .cig and run from by browser? I guess is what he is saying.

I have never been on a forum and don't know if I can or should do this but my hope is that I can attach this script or the IGM program or someone can d/l and I give the needed info and let someone put it on my HM pages there for me and just help me get it to work. Stuff like below and where I put it on the server is just over my head.

You will need a GEDCOM file which I can suppy or upload with no trouble if you need it.

2. Upload in ASCII transfer mode (and NOT BINARY mode)
3. The first line of each script must read: #!/usr/bin/perl
4. Ensure the permissions are set to 755

If I do 1 and 2 above Does that ensure permissions are set to 755 or do I need do something else ?

you can set permissions in the file manager in cpanel. there is a link to click on at the top of the permissions column
