How do I contact companies that I want to advertise for?

I've been searching all over the web to no avail. The results contain information for those looking to advertise and almost nothing for the publishers. At first I thought maybe the only way is for the company to contact the publisher first but then I saw a small blog site advertising for Macys or something so I don't think this is the case. Anyway, any help/info is appreciated.

The most popular advertizing affiliate programs I have seen are Google Adsense, Adbrite, Commission Junction, Amazon.com, and Yahoo. If you're looking to advertize for specific companies, Commission Junction is a good place to start looking.
