Prozak,

I'm rather hopeful that Hostmonster will permit the use of Fantastico for the upgrades: as previously.

I note the simple scripts is missing Gallery, which seems odd.

This is exactly the question I signed on to ask! Hopefully someone can answer this. Especially since Simple Scripts seems to update to newer versions quickly and my site recently got hijacked by a security flaw. I really would prefer not to install a new instance and export/import my posts etc... due to other items I already have setup in the blog.

i agree.. if there's a way to move everything from fantastico over to simple scripts.. it'll be great.. i have almost all my sites on wordpress and fantastico is only offering 2.3.3 whereas simple scripts offers the latest 2.5 :)

I upgraded 3 of my sites with "Simple Scripts" and the content disappeared
The templates were there as they were
I will wait fro fantistico upgrade before updating more important sites

Over in the Bluehost forums, there is a thread that explains how to migrate a fantastico-installed script over to SimpleScripts.

It isn't pretty and was pretty much what I expected would have to happen. It will also work best on a default install (not a bunch of mods installed).

The thread also specifically details a Wordpress installation, though you can modify the steps to cover any installable script.

Here is the link:

"It isn't pretty"

Shade/Others,

I put in a support ticket asking hostmonster if they were going to institute the standard upgrades via Fantastico, and they said they would get round to it, but no date had been set.

While I wouldn't seek to put ideas in your head: if they are flooded with support tickets asking the same question, it just might make a difference:)

I hope they keep both! As fantastico still as a lot more to offer. It just need updating, but it also great you see e107 in the SimpleScripts. :)
