Hello All -
I recently purchased an all-in-one scanner/fax/printer that's hooked up to my home network, and has a nifty "Scan to FTP" feature. I'm having problems getting it to connect to either my anonymous FTP location, or a password protected directory.
The scanner has a setup page which requests the following info (followed by how I've entered each field):
1. Host Address (ftp.mysite.com)
2. Username (scans@mysite.com) -"scans" is the directory I created in the FTP Accounts Setup in cPanel.
3. Password - (password I created to access "scans" in the FTP Accounts setup)
4. Store Directory (/home/1st 8 letters of my account name/public_html/scans)
This all seems elementary, but I still get authentication errors when I try to scan to this FTP location. My router/Windows firewalls are set properly, and the port is set to 21. All of the documentation on HM deals with FTP programs only, but none deal with networked scanner hardware.
Before I check with the manufacturer (Brother), can someone please verify that I'm using the correct login & password combo, or offer suggestions to try?
Thanks!
JP
