Hi,
I have started a CMS based website in my account on HostMonster. However, the site is appearing so slow, my client can not even see it. I can see it appearing after waiting for 4-5 minutes, which is not at all feasible for my client. Please advice. The details of CMS are as below...
CMS Script : CMSMadeSimple.
Thanks & regards,
Pratap.

Posting a link to your site would help others trouble-shoot your issue.

i cant tell you specifically why its being slow but the main text is loading then it is taking a while for certain pics and especially your video to appear. are the sizes of the pics large? is there anyway to load the screen with a "loading.gif" image where the video should be and then at the end of the script change the gif image to the embedded object? thats probably not the true solution but it might help a little.

Hi,
Thanks for your kind effort to resolve my problem.
But the images are of proper sizes. Videos, yes they are a bit oversized but that should not stop all the other contents from getting loaded. Because, if we try to load the other pages, they also show us similar behaviour.
Thanks.

I would look into a different system, I have a very fast line close to 10meg and it wont load... and further more it froze my browser for a minute. Part of it is undoubtedly the videos, they auto load. I have a feeling it may have something to do with the javascript on the page but I am just guessing.
Good luck

It loaded fine for me. A bit slow on an 8MB connection, but I can't complain about the speed, because I knew there were videos auto loading.
I would definately not auto load your videos. Make a link to them or something. Dial up users will hate you if you don't change that somehow.
You might also look at your JavaScript and see if you can speed that up any.
