Where is my .htaccess file?

I don't see it in my "public_html" directory? It should be there right? Or do I have some display that's hiding the "." files?

If you are using cpanel's file manager, you must select the "show hidden files (dotfiles)" option for your .htaccess to be visible.

Now I see. One must use the Legacy File Manager to see this option and not the File Manager.
To be honest, if I see two options available for File Manager I would have thought the "File Manager" and not the "Legacy File Manager" would be the option with all the bells and whistles. After all, the word legacy translates to old.
