When I first configured my webmail I recall a place where I could decide if I wanted SquirellMail or horde or a third choice of both. I have tried both for a while and now wish to switch permanently over to horde. Where is that applet? I would like to remove the extra step of having to choose horde each time.

Have a look at Roundcube webmail. You have to install it yourself but it's got nifty ajax functionality. It's not as advanced as horde or squirrelmail (I think it's still beta) but it's pretty fast and just generally pretty.

Roundcube Mail is a pretty nice alternative to squirrel or horde. At least the interface doesn't drive me crazy. And, it's free! The only problem is there's currently an annoying bug that will kick you out of the program after 5-10 minutes of writing your email. Aside from that, it's a really nice program and it's something worth exploring.

@mail is a legit largish mail app. I'd tend to go directly via the main @mail site to use it though for security reasons ;)
From memory it's written in perl and you can download a version to run yourself, it's ajaxified too. It's actually quite nice.
I've never had a problem with timeouts with roundcube but I haven't looked at the latest version. Not sure why, but development is a bit slow.

Well, @mail's not free to download. That's the only drawback. I'm a huge opensource fan and that's why I'm supporting Roundcube. Well, development might be a little slow for Roundcube, but heck, it's opensource so I think I can live with it for a little while.

Pcguru2006;
A couple ways you could accomplish what you want first would be goto;
http://yourdomain.com:2095/horde/index.php or
if you look for a file out there called cpanelproxy it will allow you to specify that all by you adding a subdomain "webmail or whatever you wanted".domain.com

Disregard... I must have been asleep at the wheel.. grrr
I'm a fan of roundcube myself, and as an open-source portal I tend to stick with the open source.
I just moved off my personal server to hostmonster to drive my site as I wanted to make use of that server. I am however seeming to be having some problems with my config file. The MySQL is setup fine as I have verified the DB, I can log in fine, but in my log file I am receiving access denied errors:
"SMTP Error: SMTP error: Connection failed: Failed to connect
socket: Connection refused"
Was wondering if any roundcube users have run into this and can offer assistance, or maybe willing to share you config file minus any sensitive information of course.
Thanks,

I would definately have to second the vote for RoundCube, it's lightweight, fast, and easy to install.
