Hi guys

I am getting a very random pop up box occasionaly on my site, asking something about digital certificate, and then I hit yes and it crashes my browser, I am shure this would be affecting my guests as well, its ver random though..

At first I thought it may have been my surreal media template, as I had some modifications done to it recently ,so I nukes that and installed VB advanced instead, but I still get the pop up a coupls of times a day ,not all the time.

I only have Vbulleting 3.6.8, Vbadvanced CMPS, VBSEO, Photopost Pro, DownloadsII mod and TV/Radio mod on my server thats all, I will upload a screenshot.

Would anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?

Can you tell us what the pop up box is saying about digital certificates?

It is hard to help troubleshoot when we don't know what the specific problem is.

It is also not a good idea to click "yes" to any pop up box you aren't expecting. Since you say it is crashing your browser, I would be concerned about malware being installed on your computer by clicking yes in that window.

Any more information on the contents of the pop up would be extremely welcome.

Can you post a link to your website, or shoot it to me in a pm?

From what I"ve been able to gather, the popup you are getting could be due to a configuration in either Apache2 or one of your installed programs that is looking for client certificates. The other issue it could be is a misconfiguration in Apache2 httpd.conf, however since there has been relatively little attention to this particular popup, I would be more inclined to believe it has something to do with one of your programs.

I don't know how all this ties to the fact that you say the popup is only happening a few times a day ...

So about that link .....

It is just a warning that the ssl certificate belongs to hostmonster and not your site. If you bought an ssl cert from hm have them reinstall it.

fyi, it doesn't crash my browser.

I can't duplicate the problem in any browser. I don't see anything that stands out in the source code.

Are your other users complaining about this problem as well, or are you the only one that sees this behavior?

Doesn't give me a problem on my browser - however you got any links on your page going to SSL pages? (Also got any plugins or anything on your browser that may be trying to do stuff?)
