I really hate to ask, but I want opinions other than my dad's.

I'm in love with my website and it's not yet finished which is awesome because it gives me more to do. It's fun for me, designing websites. Hostmonster is my first paid host, and so far I've enjoyed it.

However, my financial situation isn't looking so good. I already paid and everything, so I'm good for now, but I'm not sure I can afford to lose that money.

I can't seem to figure out when I first opened my account to see if it's been over the 30 days refund or not. I think it might be, in which case there's no reason to close my account. However if it's still in the 30 day period, then I have that option open. I've tried contacting them, but I keep getting a busy signal, which is funny as I've contacted them before via phone and got a recording to select which department I needed to speak with. Any ideas on this?

I'd really love to keep this account and so far this place has been great (I can see why ya'll use Hostmonster!) so I'm hoping ya'll can help me. I am waiting on the Live Chat but I was hoping someone here might know the answers to my questions as some of them are probably really obvious but I've just missed something (and we all know how fast Live Chat is...).

1) Should I keep this account or go for the refund? (Provided that I can get it)
2) How do I see how long I've been here? It says my account expires in 714 days and I really suck at figuring out math problems. If it's 730, then I still have time, if that's what I decide. If not, then I get to keep it.
3) Why do I get the busy signal when I call them?

Thank you for reading this, I see it's longer than I intended. I hope someone can answer my questions and I hope ya'll have a great day!

I really like HostMonster. You can contact them. Are you using a cell phone or a house line? And are you inside the U.S.A? If you are using a cell phone trying using the home line in the usa. Live chat and support tickets take time. Email them asking to terminate your account and get your money back. I don't see why you should do that though. HM is the best :D

I don't know how it goes for a refund in Hostmonster, if it's easy and painless to get it or not, because I've never been into the situation of wanting to get one.

But if you have 714 days left in your account it means you still have 16 days left until you've been here 30 days.

The thing is: if you really don't want to keep on with hostmonster, then ask for the refund ASAP. The sooner the better. Just to be on the safe side.

But my recommendation is to keep on with Hostmonster if you can afford it. You'll have it hard to find another hosting company which offers what Hostmonster does at the same price.

About the busy signal, no idea, I'm from Spain so I always use Live Chat. Maybe someone other can help you about it. But my guess is that their lines are fully occupied, try later.

I can see in your sig that you are very busy Online.

Aren't you making any money Online to cover your expenses ?

I can only help you with my 3 month hosting refund if you sign up over my link. Hostmonster doesn't offer discount coupons, otherwise you could add this to my refund.
This in case you would cancel your 2 year contract and sign up for a 1 year contract.

I would stay at Hostmonster. There are several great Host out there (I offer 15) but I really like Hostmonster.

Hope you will stick to HM.

I've only made $0.05 online. So no, that's not going to cover my expenses. I'll think about it for a few more days, but I do really like Hostmonster.

Hostmonster will refund your money after the 30 day trial period, but it will be prorated against the plan you purchased.

For instance, if you bought a 24 month plan and used 4 months worth, they would refund 20 months of payment back to you.

The thing is, you already paid for your hosting. Unless you are planning on using that money for something else, then I would recommend you keep your account and look at more advertising on your sites. There are a ton of things you can do to increase your profits, and there are some people on boards here that do it for a living. Maybe they might help you get started by giving you some pointers.

My suggestion is to get started with Google AdSense. You also might look at charging a subscription fee, or asking for donations (if you are a non-profit organization, or just want people to help out). You can also look at trying to increase the traffic to your site by making your site more SEO (Search Engine Optimization) compliant. You can look around the 'net for more info on that.
