How does this work? Can I pick any domain I want without paying extra? or does it go with my original account and share my bandwidth and storage space? I would guess I have to register the domain for the year.

I read this, http://helpdesk.hostmonster.com/kb/index.php?x=&mod_id=2&id=242

it wasn't really any help.

You have to buy a whole other domain from hostmonster. Then its on your account and it shares your storage & bandwith.

You don't need to buy the domain from HostMonster but you can if you want.

Once you have the domain (from whomever), then you point the nameservers of that domain at ns1.hostmonster.com & ns2.hostmonster.com. You can then add the domain as an addon domain via CPanel - the addon domain will share the bandwidth & storage space of your account.

I'm confused. I don't have another domain registered, anywhere. So basically I would have to purchase a domain from anywhere, which is usually around $9.99 a year and then add it into my cpanel? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'f you don't mind to pay the average 10.- for a .com domain I think to buy it here at HM is easier, as you don't need to make the "point server to" stuff.

I have bought one a few weeks, added it to my "addon domains" and about a hour later the domain was working.

Anyhow, please buy a domain with ICANN (or WHOIS).

If you don't care about the .xxx (info, us, org, etc.) you can get a cheap domain for about 3.- for 12 month.
