Hi I Have been trying to upload my web site through a FTP software called FileZilla and WS_FTP95 and for some reason this is not working. I called Coustomer service and they couldn't help me either.

When i try to use any of the FTP methods that Host moster offers i can't do it either i get connnected and automatically disconnected.

The odd thing is that I use a free host company and i can upload anything to their server with no problems :(

Is anyone else having this problem ? Or anyone know why is this happening?

it's strange .. but maybe your company uses a firewall or something ..

try this ..

open this link but change the username, password and the domain ..

ftp://USERNAME:PASSWORD@www.MYDOMAIN.org/public_html

notice that there are : between the username and the password ..

open it with the Explorer ..

Yes, this is how it goes: ftp://databasename@yoursite.com :D Not working? I recommend you download Smart FTP >> google.com type smart ftp go to website/downloads page and download/install it. Sitename: your date base name or Sitename: yoursite.com - data base name then click on the 'green' button. Type in your data base name for the username. Password >> your password. Uploading via smart ftp is much faster than uploading via a web browser.

Try create a new FTP account on your server and see if you get the same error message when trying to connect.

I think it's a firewall problem. I'm familiar with filezilla and if you type in the username (which is the account name that hostmonster gave to you), the domain name (yoursite.com) and the password correctly, it should connect unless something is blocking. Check with your internet access company.

I agree with Aaron, a lot of times people only write in the username in the ftp username box and forget to include @yoursite.com after the username. Also you may try using you server ip in the FTP Host Box.

Could be your username cause i got real confused with that on FTP when i first signed up cause myusername is FunnyStash.com but my ftp login name is funnysta with ftp so i had to type in funnysta@funnystash.com for my username which got me real confused and made no sense.
