Hi everybody,

I just signed up with HostMonster to (hopefully) start my first site and learn the ropes. Unfortunately, I'm having a really hard time figuring anything out.

I'm trying to set up my webdisk and can't get it to work. I saved the windows XP version as instructed in cPanel's startup wizard to my computer, which now appears on my desktop as "mydomain.com Secure WebDisk.vbs"

When I double click to open it, two error messages appear: the first says that "Internet Explorer could not open https//mydomain.com:2078/ as a web folder. Would you like to see its default instead?" I hit yes.

The next error message is from Windows Script Host, and it says "There was a problem connecting to the WebDisk service. Please make sure ports 2078 (SSL) and 2077 are not firewalled."

The problem is that I've opened ports 2078 and 2077 in my router (had to have a 2-hour conversation with a support tech who walked me through it), and I'm 90% sure that I have opened these ports on my computer's firewall as well (I named them as exceptions to XP's firewall)

Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong or direction towards anything that might help would be really appreciated.

If you opened the ports in your firewall and router and it still doesn't work I don't know.

Try downloading the non ssl version

If your computer isn't directly connected to the internet, you'll also have to configure your router so that packets coming in on 2077,2078 are forwarded to the local IP address of your computer.

That was an awful long sentence; I hope it makes sense. gl
