I love the Legacy File Manager! Fast, no nonsense does exactly what it says on the tin!
But File Manager - it seems like a really great program, but that is if you can be bothered to wait! It is so slow and it doesn't always do what you tell it to do. I sometimes stare at the screen and say 'I did click on that file didn't I'.
Does everyone else have the same experience as me?
BTW, I am using Opera.
Cheers

I've had nothing but success with the file manager under Opera. I normally use FTP for my day-to-day file management needs, but when I need to delete large numbers of files and folders, the cPanel file manager is the only way to go.

I agree when it comes to deleting large files and folders file manager is the way to go, I also use it a lot to change permissions since I cant do that using web disc and for some reason filezilla has a problem changing permissions.

Fair enough, FTP is the way to go, but I usually use File Manager to edit, copy or move .htaccess files. The legacy file manager sometimes lets me do this, but it is too much hassle using ftp just to edit .htaccess. Does anyone know how to change the preferences in Legacy File manager so that I can see hidden files - I disabled the pop-up that used to appear.

I edit my .htaccess files directly within Filezilla. Connect to the server, click edit, the file downloads and opens in your editor automatically. Make the changes, save the document, and Filezilla will automatically upload it once you close it.
I do most of my small edit jobs and deleting large amounts of files/folders using SSH.
But then again, I work with Unix based systems for a living so its easy for me :D
