New member having ftp problems

Hi i just registered today and so far so good but now i am not able to load my website. I've followed every tutorial and forum thread. You can see by yourself. My website is http://74.220.207.176/
i have delete default.htm and uploaded my index.html, i don't think i am suposed to wait for the effect, does it?

Because that is probably your shared IP. Did your purchase include a domain?

If it did then do try typing that a see what you get

also you uploaded your index.html to the public_html? correct

no actually to be precise i just bought the host for 2 years at 5,95$ i think and i want to transfer my domain name without downtime so i figured that first i should upload my files to the ftp then change dns. But anyways i don't think i am supposed to change dns before i can see my website with it's ip adress? Am i wrong? i can't have downtime on my domain since it would be bad costumer service that's why i want it to be perfect...

The address to your site should be http://74.220.207.176/~youraccount/ . Hostmonster should have provided you with the appropriate link in a welcome message. Check your email for the welcome message, and you should find the right URL.
